My name is Lucía Vázquez, freelance translator (sworn), interpreter and proofreader. I specialise in audiovisual translation and texts about art, but I also offer my services in many other areas, which you will see as you explore my website. My three main working languages are English, Spanish and Galician; the latter two are my mother tongues, although I also translate from French and Portuguese.
I enjoy my work so much that I consider it a continuation of my personal qualities: meticulous, efficient, creative and above all responsible, the word people have used to define me for as long as I can remember. This responsibility means I can meet the demands of any project, not only because of the integrity I owe to my clients and the author, but also to myself, since anything less would undermine everything I stand for. The Arts have always been my passion; when I was a young girl I was already dreaming of a professional career in languages. Now that dream is a reality, and I sustain it by indulging every word and every sentence, seeking out the perfect rendering in another language, so that all I leave behind is the mark of a job well done.
